From Leech Lake:

Oct 16: I’m looking ahead to Friday, excitedly, because that’s when we’re brewing a new winter seasonal. Ready for this…?
Bitter Cold Imperial Northern Brown IPA. I hesitate to publish the IBUs because they’re ridiculous. Bottom line… I’m going to add 7.33 oz of English Target hops (12.6% AAU) every 10 minutes over the course of the 90-minute boils, until 11 lbs are consumed in three 40 gallon batches (3.5 bbls net). At 26.06 Plato (1.111 OG), if we achieve full attenuation, the result will be 12% ABV.

Nov. 7: I’ve brewed hundreds of batches of beer over the past 21 years… many different styles, and rarely did I brew the same thing twice until launching LLBC. So, I write this with a little consternation because I don’t want to over-sell it, but… Bitter Cold Imperial Northern Brown IPA, which I kegged on Tuesday, is the best beer I’ve ever brewed. No. It’s the best beer I’ve ever tasted. Oversold?? It will be released in the LLBC taproom on Saturday. Come experience it yourself.

Additionally, I am conditioning the beer in three Corny kegs each with a different species of wood: Hickory, Cherry and White Oak. One each will be poured at Winterfest, the Winter Beer Dabbler, and the third TBD. Specs: 12.5%ABV, IBUs off the charts (really).
