The Buttered Tin announced that it will soon be expanding capacity by 50%, reports Minneapolis Eater.
Alicia Hinze, The Buttered Tin’s owner, recently leased the space adjacent to her bakery and restaurant, and said once that wall is opened up, they’ll be able to add 50 additional seats.
The Buttered Tin opened in 2013, just before Lowertown experienced its big restaurant boom. The little restaurant quickly became a favorite breakfast spot; on weekends, the lines can get up to 45 minutes to an hour-and-a-half wait time.
The extra seats should alleviate that wait time. Other expansions include a new case dedicated to cakes and pies, more wedding cakes, a private dining space available for special events, and eventually a boxed-lunch and breakfast service.
The bar menu is also getting a little refresh, including fresh, seasonal mimosa varieties and a new bloody mary, with a mix from Dan Oskey. Red and white sangria are set to arrive soon, too.
