Summit Brewing’s 30th Anniversary Double IPA, the first in a series of releases planned for this year to mark the St. Paul brewery’s 30th anniversary, will begin hitting store shelves next week and is already available on draft at several Twin Cities bars and restaurants (call ahead to be sure).
The beer highlights U.S. Equinox hops and the experimental New Zealand Orbit hop, which is cross-bred differently each growing season using various cultivars from the country’s “Hops with a Difference” breeding program.
According to Summit, the beer is “Bursting with tangerine, papaya and mango hop aroma. Pronounced yet smooth bitterness with malt background of toast, slight caramel and bready notes.” 30th Anniversary DIPA clocks in at 8.5% ABV and 101 IBUs and will be available in four-packs of 16oz. cans.
