Brewmaster Chuck Silva announced today that he’s resigning from Green Flash Brewing Company, reports West Coaster. Silva has been the brewmaster at Green Flash for 11 years and is largely credited with guiding the company to where it is today: a leader in West Coast-style, hop-driven beers.
The move is something Silva has contemplated for quite some time, he says, as he’s long wanted to have his own brewing company. Effective immediately, he’ll be devoting his time and energy to Silva Brewing Company. He’s targeted San Luis Obispo County, where many of his family and friends reside, for a location.
“It’s been so fulfilling to play such a major role in the accomplishment of so many goals at Green Flash. Together, we’ve come further and grown larger than I could have ever foreseen. I couldn’t have done it alone and I thank every member of the craft community that helped me along the way,” said Silva. “But it’s always been my dream and personal long-term goal to brew on my own terms. Now is the time to go for it.”
