Big Wood Brewery’s FINE! IPA is first bottle release in new ‘Taproom Series’

Big Wood Brewery is on a quest to bring their White Bear Lake taproom to your living room.

FINE! IPA is the first release in a new “Taproom Series” from Big Wood. Once a quarter, they’re planning to release a different, previously taproom-only beer in limited quantities of 750ml bottles and kegs.

“We keep a constant rotation of dozens of fresh recipes flowing through our 10 tap lines and, up until now, you could only get them in the taproom,” co-owner Jason Medvec said in a press release. “The Taproom Series is our way of getting some of our unique and fresh brews to all of the Minnesota craft beer lovers that aren’t able to get to our neck of the woods as easily or as often as our fellow White Bear Lake locals.”

FINE! IPA is a 6.5% ABV, 75 IBU West Coast IPA brewed with Mosaic, Simcoe, and Azacca hops. It carries intense notes of mango, papaya, and other tropical fruits, balanced by a sturdy malt backbone.

Bottles will retail for around $7.99 and should begin showing up in liquor stores this week. About 40 retail locations will get the beer, include France 44, Top Ten Liquors St. Louis Park, Stinson Wine, Beer, & Spirits, The Ale Jail, Elevated Beer, Wine, & Spirits—White Bear Lake,  Zipp’s Liquors, all Total Wine locations, and all White Bear Lake liquor stores.

In addition to their four bottle releases throughout the year, the Taproom Series will also include monthly releases of unique beers to select bars and restaurants, with a focus on seasonally-appropriate recipes and new twists on old favorites.
