Lodestar Ale, Fulton Brewing Company’s latest limited-edition beer and its first collaboration with a non-brewery, will be released this Saturday at Kraftskiva!—the annual summer block party hosted by The Bachelor Farmer, Askov Finlayson, and Marvel Bar.
The Kölsch-style rye ale is named after a 14th century English term for the North Star and was developed in partnership with The Bachelor Farmer and Marvel Bar.
Inspired by the flavors of traditional Nordic brewing and cuisine, the brewers took a unique approach and expanded on these traditions by using modern brewing techniques and high-quality ingredients from Minnesota and from around the world to capture the correct flavor profile.
Lodestar features a Bohemian floor malted pilsner base, three different types of rye and a small amount of raw wheat from a Minnesota farm to enhance mouthfeel. Northern Brewer, Mt. Hood and Polaris hops add a touch of bitterness and aroma, and fresh juniper berries added toward the end of the boil add a subtle but distinct flavor on the finish. The resulting beer is both sessionable and complex enough to stand up to the delicately prepared dishes The Bachelor Farmer is known for.
After Kraftskiva!, Lodestar Ale will be available exclusively at The Bachelor Farmer, Marvel Bar and from the Fulton taproom through the end of the year, or until the limited release runs out.
Advance tickets for Kraftskiva! are sold out, but a limited number of tickets for the event will be available at the door on a first-come, first-served basis for $25. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Mississippi River Fund.
